Victorian taxidermy toy circa 1860-1900. These were sold as souvenirs at the zoos. They were very expensive in their time. During the Victorian era, people were fascinated by nature, plants, animals, insects, etc, and taxidermy was in fashion. These handmade children’s curios were highly prized.
